Two's Company (Eastern Bluebirds)

...Two's Company (Eastern Bluebirds)
This painting was done for my sister-in-law that lives in Maryland. This is an original oil painting by Ruth Housley.
My sister-in-law has bird houses up for the bluebirds so she can watch them from her house.  They have them in the front of the house as well as the back from their deck.
She wanted a fence with bluebirds sitting on it and some flowers/weeds in the background.

This is an original oil painting.

...Bluebird On Fence Post...
I did this commissioned painting for a relative because she loves bluebirds.  She has bluebird houses for them in her front yard and back yard so she can view them.  This is an original oil painting by Ruth Housley.

I painted it in a country setting with the fence post, flowers with weeds in the background.

...Chasing The Geese...
I painted this for my brother that works with a Border collie which chases the geese from the ponds. My sister-in-law wanted me to paint this for his birthday a couple of years ago. This is an original oil painting
by Ruth Housley.

He enjoyed the painting and said that he liked it very much and was a commissioned work of art.
My brother has worked with Border collies for several years.

Forsythia And Fruit

...Forsythia and Fruit...
This is an orignal oil painting by Ruth Housley of Forsythia flowers with fruit on an 8x10 canvas panel.
The still life is similar to the one I did in 2006 of flowers and apples.

It is a commissioned painting that I did for a relative and she bought the other one from me which she gave to her daughter and wanted another one for herself.

I have lots of compliments on this particular painting because of the brightness of the Forsythia flowers.

"The Last Supper" Copy After Leonardo de Vinci By Ruth Housley

..."The Last Supper"...

A friend of mine asked me in September of 2007 if I would consider painting "The Last Supper" for her and she said it would be a 36x24 on canvas.  This is a reproduction of Leonardo de Vinci copy by Ruth Housley.  I thought about doing the painting and told her I would do it and she said  she would be honored if I did it instead of getting someone else to do this painting.  It is a commissioned painting and sold.

I told her I would do it and I knew it would be challenging  and frustrating at times but it is finished successfully and that is what counts.

I am  glad that I completed it in the long run because it did stretch me as an artist to get out of my comfort zone and do something that I have never did before.  Doing this painting was a learning experience.

This has taken me about three months but the friend said she was in no hurry.

The names of the deciples are:  Looking straight at the painting at the far left is: Barthalameu, James (younger), Andrew, Judas, Peter, John, Jesus in the center, Thomas, James (elder), Phillip, Matthew, Thaddeus, and Simon.  This was interesting to know all their names.
