A friend of mine asked me in September of 2007 if I would consider painting "The Last Supper" for her and she said it would be a 36x24 on canvas. This is a reproduction of Leonardo de Vinci copy by Ruth Housley. I thought about doing the painting and told her I would do it and she said she would be honored if I did it instead of getting someone else to do this painting. It is a commissioned painting and sold.
I told her I would do it and I knew it would be challenging and frustrating at times but it is finished successfully and that is what counts.
I am glad that I completed it in the long run because it did stretch me as an artist to get out of my comfort zone and do something that I have never did before. Doing this painting was a learning experience.
This has taken me about three months but the friend said she was in no hurry.
The names of the deciples are: Looking straight at the painting at the far left is: Barthalameu, James (younger), Andrew, Judas, Peter, John, Jesus in the center, Thomas, James (elder), Phillip, Matthew, Thaddeus, and Simon. This was interesting to know all their names.
