I want to give credit to Connie Tom, Marsha Robinette, Sharon Weaver and Carol Zirkle for their fine art that they do and display on their websites.  Connie Tom and Marsha Robinette display also on Goggle Blogger.
Connie's art is luminous with bright colors and is very uplifting to view her art.
On the other hand Marsha does carbon graphite pencil and has been doing watercolor recently and does a fabulous job with both.
Sharon does plein air paintings and travels to places with friends to do outside painting.  I admire her for that kind of painting in the great outdoors with all the elements to contend with.
Carol does very beautiful skyscapes as well as landscapes in pastel and displayed on her website.

I like to follow Connie Tom's blog and see all the beautiful, bright and luminous paintings that she completes.

I also like to follow Marsha Robinette's blog to see what interesting articles she writes as well as her pencil technique that she is so good at and loves to do.

I also like to follow Sharon Weaver's blog to see what she has on her easel or is finishing or preparing to do.  Also the Plein Air that she does with other friends.
I really like the Italy scenes that she did after she and her husband took a trip.

I also like Carol Zirkle's blog and website.  She has some beautiful sky scenes and she does them of the Montana skies.  They are so bright and beautiful.

I like these ladies blogs as well as their artwork.  So keep up the good work.

I have for many years enjoyed viewing Dalhart Windberg's paintings and also Larry Dyke.  They both have galleries that are in Texas.  Dalhart Windberg has a galllery in Georgetown, Texas.  We stopped there on  the way back from Fredericksburg when we visited a  few years ago.  I have seen a few of Larry Dyke's paintings and enjoy viewing them as well.  I did see one of his at the Whistle Pik Gallery in Fredericksburg, Texas and viewed his art online at the Midland Gallery in Midland, Texas.  They are both great artists and work in oil medium.

Other Artists - Helen Van Wyk

I have three books by Helen Van Wyk and have been reading them and studying how she did her still life paintings.  I use to watch her on PBS Channel 13 years ago.  She is deceased but still has her books out for purchase.

She did quite a lot of still life paintings as well as portraits.  She discussed how she did her portraits on some of the shows on PBS years ago.  She also explained how she did her still life paintings and setting them up and then doing the underpainting.  I did enjoy watching her and learning from her.

Artists That Inspire Me

...Other Artists...
There are a lot of great artists in the world but I was amazed when I read B. Herd's history on his website.  He is self-taught and born in Dallas in 1934 and spent his early years in the Panhandle.  Later he moved to Austin, San Antonio, and Fort Worth.  He has a degree in Business Administration.  He started his hobby of oil painting in 1968 to relax after his retail day stress.  He used to have a gallery in Dallas at the Olla Podrida Mall.  His gallery is now located in Salado, Texas at the present time.

Also another artist that I admire is A.D. Greer.  He is deceased but his work lives on and his work has a peaceful feel to it when you view it.  I read his history and he was born in 1904 on Christmas Day.  He grew up in anything but an artistic environment.  In 1934 he got his big break and opened up a studio in Oklahoma City.  Within this man, lies the soul of a poet - and it is truly poetry that he instills in his art.

Another artist I admire his work is R. W. Hedge.  I especially like the Grand Canyon he paints.  He is in some of the finest collections nationwide.  He is self-taught as well as B. Herd but his work really stands out and makes you want to be there.  He was born in Tyler, Texas but makes his home in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Another artist I read about his history was also very amazing.  His name is Rick Patterson.  He was born in Temple, Texas in 1959.  He knew at an early age he wanted to be an artist.  His paintings hang in the Texas State Capital.  Many prominent Congressmen and Senators, as well as other distinguished Texans, have purchased his artwork.

Another artist that I was amazed about was W.R. Thrasher.  He was born in Lamar County, Texas in 1908 and he was a farm boy.  Because of his desire to paint he spent all of his earnings on brushes and canvases.  His work is in private collections throughout the country, in state offices in Austin, Texas and various universities and in congressional offices in Washington, DC.

Texas Artists

I was at a friends house yesterday and she was showing me some of her art prints that she had of B. Herd.  They were mostly western art prints that he did.  She also had a print of George Boutwell and I had told her that I visited his gallery on our return trip from East Texas during the spring of that year.  Mr. Boutwell was born in East Hartford, CT.  He and his wife live on a ranch near Clifton, Texas and the house is a 1904 Victorian home called the Highview.

B. Herd was born in Dallas in 1934 and spent his early years in the Panhandle.  He is self taught and when they view his art they are amazed and his work has increased knowing he is self taught.  His gallery is in Salado, Texas at the Old Town Salado #12.  I really like his work and his bluebonnets are absolutely gorgeous.

Most Inspiring Instructor

The art instructor that I think I have learned a lot from was watching Joseph Yarnell (Jerry) on PBS for many years.  I have all of his books and still look at some of the old tapes I have of his work.  He explains things that they do not tell you in art school.  I went to one of his workshops which was on composition and perspective and was very interesting.  His website is YarnellArt.com.

I have had several art teachers and instructors over the years since I have been painting.
